Aerosol method detecting low concentrations of ammonium involves passage of the analysed gas over crystal hydrate of iron nitrate with consequent registration of the aerosol obtained. The method is sensitive and precise due to direct correlation between concentration of the dispersed substance and ammonium level. For precise evaluation and its effectiveness, the crystal hydrate of iron nitrate should be kept over 55-65% nitric acid solution before the analysis.

The study covered possible detection of ammonium microdoses through passing the analyzed gas over some reagents in order to obtain ammonium aerosol then and register concentration of its dispersed phase. The most effective reagent is crystal hydrate of iron nitrate. Using this reagent makes the technique more precise and handy in comparison with the present ones.
