Background: Early-stage upper gastrointestinal (UGI) cancer patients, after surgery, have altered gastrointestinal functions, compromising their nutritional status and health outcomes. Nutritional care provision to UGI survivors rarely focuses on long-term survivorship. Here, we explore recommendations for surveillance of micronutrient deficiency and supplementation for UGI cancer survivors after surgery.

In this qualitative study, sixteen social workers employed in long term care facilities in a western province of Canada shared their perspectives about the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on their practice early in the pandemic. Participants responded to nine open-ended online survey questions about their practice and experiences.

Design And Methods: We collected federal and state CMP data from state survey and certification agencies for 2004. We also used federal CMP data from the federal enforcement action database for 2000-2004.
Purpose: This study examined federal and state civil money penalties and fines collected from nursing homes and how states used the collected funds.
Design And Methods: We used a telephone survey of state officials, Freedom of Information Act requests, state Web site searches, and stakeholder interviews to describe the funds collected, the availability and the use of funds, public information about penalties and fines, and the state allocation process and policies.
Results: In 2004, 43 states collected a total of $21 million from more than 3,000 federal and state penalties and fines.
Objective: To analyse how the tobacco industry responded to economic models and methods used in third party payer tobacco litigation that has occurred since 1994.
Methods: Identified 12 third party payer cases and reviewed the transcripts using WinMax qualitative software. Focused on defendant's opening and closing statements, followed by trial testimony, depositions, and plaintiff's transcripts.
