A patient with rheumatoid arthritis in her 30s who had a left knee that had been ankylosed for 10 years was treated with robotic-arm assisted total knee replacement (RA-TKR) and surgical release of the ankyloses. For RA-TKR, accurate bony registration is essential. It was difficult to record the bone intraoperatively in an ankylosed knee with changed morphology.

A generalized Cox regression model is proposed using a time-dependent stratification variable to summarize lifetime service utilization.

Alcohol consumption remains a significant global health challenge, causing millions of direct and indirect deaths annually. Intriguingly, recent work has highlighted the prefrontal cortex, a major brain area that regulates inhibitory control of behaviors, whose activity becomes dysregulated upon alcohol abuse. However, whether an endogenous mechanism exists within this brain area that limits alcohol consumption is unknown.

Clinical impact of early post-transplant red cell transfusions in kidney transplantation: a systematic review and meta-analysis.

Introduction: Red blood cell transfusions (RBCT) represent a potentially modifiable risk factor for HLA sensitisation and adverse outcomes post transplantation. Evidence of the clinical impact of post-transplant RBCT has been infrequently reported. Herein, we performed a systematic review of available literature to assess the prevalence of RBCT post kidney transplant, and the effect of transfusion on transplant outcomes.
