Generation of a transgenic chicken line with reporters for limb bud mesenchyme and apical ectodermal ridge cells.

Cell type-specific reporter transgenic chicken lines are invaluable tools in developmental biology, allowing the visualization of dynamics and differentiation states of target cell types in living embryos. Here, we report the establishment of a new transgenic chicken line in which limb mesenchyme and apical ectodermal ridge (AER) cells are labeled with different fluorescent proteins in the embryos. The processes for generating the reporter line involved using tissue-specific promoters, the Tol2 transposon-mediated genomic integration, and clonal culture system of primordial germ cells.

Predictive Value of Preoperative Peak Oxygen Uptake for Postoperative Pulmonary Complications in Lung Cancer Patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease: A Single-center Retrospective Cohort Study.

Introduction: The relationship between preoperative peak oxygen uptake/weight (VO2/W) and postoperative pulmonary complications (PPC) in lobectomies, including video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery, remains unclear. Traditional pulmonary function tests are often unreliable in this group, necessitating alternative predictive methods. Therefore, this study aimed to clarify the predictive value of preoperative peak VO2/W for PPC and explore factors related to PPC in lung cancer patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

Clinical factors associated with high PD-L1 expression in patients with early-stage non-small cell lung cancer.

Background: Superior outcomes have been obtained for neoadjuvant treatment with immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICI) plus chemotherapy over neoadjuvant chemotherapy alone, especially in patients with high programmed cell death ligand 1 (PD-L1) expression. However, it is not always possible to obtain sufficient tumor specimens for biomarker testing before surgery. In this study, we explored clinical factors that can predict high PD-L1 expression.
