Clinical and analytical monitoring of patients with multiple sclerosis on anti-CD20 therapeutics: a real-world safety profile study.

Background: Anti-CD20 monoclonal antibodies are a class of immunosuppressive drugs widely used in the treatment of central nervous system (CNS) inflammatory diseases, with well-established efficacy and safety. Although rare, these therapies can be associated with serious adverse events including hematological and infectious complications. This study aims to evaluate their safety and tolerability profile in real-world clinical practice.

Brazil's response to public health emergencies in 2023: lessons for the international community.

Objective: To describe the Brazilian experience of responding to public health emergencies in 2023, the organizational structure, and epidemiological characteristics.

Methods: Three emergencies (case studies) that occurred during the study year were analyzed according to the actions implemented during the response and the impacts on the population. The public health emergencies were summarized and analyzed through research on official documents and websites of the Ministry of Health and local health authorities.

Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement: Full Unilateral Access Using the Ipsilateral Superficial Femoral Artery Is Effective.

Background: Access site complications are very common complications in transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR). Usually, a second arterial sheath is placed either in the contralateral femoral artery or in the radial artery as a simplified approach. This study aimed to investigate the safety and effectiveness of a full unilateral access using the ipsilateral superficial femoral artery (iSFA) in TAVR and to determine whether it simplifies the procedure.

Sudden vision loss in pregnancy: Wernicke's encephalopathy in a patient with hyperemesis gravidarum.

Wernicke's encephalopathy, the acute phase of Wernicke-Korsakoff syndrome, is characterised as a triad of altered mental status, ocular signs and ataxia. Our patient presented with hyperemesis gravidarum, which is a rare aetiology of Wernicke's encephalopathy. The patient did not have any oculomotor abnormalities, which are more common and classically described in Wernicke's triad.
