Purpose: The aim of this study is to estimate the diagnostic efficiency of VBQ score for assessing osteopenia and osteoporosis in different Roussouly types in lumbar degenerative disease.

Methods: We reviewed the preoperative data of 501 patients with lumbar degenerative diseases who underwent lumbar spine surgery between July 2019 and December 2022 with available T1-weighted magnetic resonance imaging and dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves were plotted to analyze the diagnostic performance of VBQ score in different Roussouly classifications.

Background: Primary liver cancer is a highly aggressive neoplasm with high incidence and mortality. Due to the high ability to metastasis, the 5-year survival rate of patients with primary liver cancer is poor.

Aim: To investigate the clinical value of systemic immunoinflammatory index (SII) in predicting recurrence and metastasis after interventional therapy in patients with primary liver cancer.

High-safety aqueous zinc (Zn) ion batteries confront hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) and dendrite growth of Zn anode, which can be well solved by electrolyte optimization and electrode modification. However, the simultaneously implementation of the electrolyte solvation structure and electrode/electrolyte interface regulation has been ignored and rarely investigated. In this work, inspired by shunt mechanism of hemicellulose in plant kingdom, xylan (XL) was designed and developed as a trace electrolyte additive (ZS@XL) to disperse in aqueous electrolyte and adsorb on Zn anode to simultaneously regulate solvation structure and electrode/electrolyte interface of Zn anode.

Objective: The Getting Older Adults Outdoors (GO-OUT) randomized trial showed that a 10-week outdoor walk group (OWG) program was not superior to 10 weekly phone reminders in increasing physical and mental health; however, OWG attendance varied. This study examined whether dose-response relationships existed between OWG attendance and improvement in physical and mental health among older adults with mobility limitations.

Methods: We analyzed data from 76 OWG participants with pre- and post-intervention scores on at least one of seven measures of health outcomes (walking endurance, comfortable and fast walking speed, balance, lower extremity strength, walking self-efficacy, and emotional well-being).

GeTe-based films have attracted tremendous attention from the thermoelectric community owing to their excellent thermoelectric performance. It is vital to reduce the hole density and maintain a high carrier mobility for GeTe films; however, this remains a significant challenge. To overcome this drawback, we succeeded in fabricating high-crystalline quality GeTe-based films and remarkably improve their electrical properties using molecular beam epitaxy under a low substrate temperature and optimized Te/GeTe flux ratios.
