Objective: Prehension of the position of the microcatheter tip under fluoroscopy during cerebral aneurysm embolization is critical to prevent intraoperative rupture of the aneurysm, even if the first marker at the tip is obscured by coils in the aneurysm. This study presents our initial experience with a sub-marker catheter, which includes an additional marker positioned 5 mm from the tip, designed to facilitate accurate positioning of the microcatheter tip.

Methods: We analyzed cases of cerebral aneurysms treated with sub-marker catheters at our hospital from July 2022 to September 2023.

Objective: Despite the known poor outcomes of patients with hemorrhagic moyamoya disease (MMD), previous studies have not explored the entire population of hemorrhagic MMD, often excluding severely impaired patients due to the lack of imaging studies demonstrating cerebral angioarchitecture. Herein, we investigate the prevalence, location of intracerebral hematoma (ICH), and outcomes in patients with hemorrhagic MMD, including severely impaired individuals who underwent emergency computed tomography (CT) angiography (CTA) to identify secondary ICHs.

Methods: We conducted a retrospective analysis of 2092 patients admitted to our hospital within 3 days of ICH onset from January 2010 to December 2022.

Herein, we report three cases of cerebellar hemorrhage due to a ruptured small aneurysm located on a collateral artery compensating for one or more stenotic or occluded major cerebellar arteries. In each case, endovascular distant parent artery occlusion of both the collateral artery and aneurysm was performed to prevent rebleeding. A ruptured small aneurysm in a collateral artery may be observed in patients with hemorrhage in an atypical cerebellar region, especially in cases of stenosis or occlusion of the vertebral artery or posterior inferior cerebellar artery.
