Surgical resection for ampullary lesions lacks clear guidelines. Pancreaticoduodenectomy (PD) is the standard treatment for malignant ampullary tumors but is often excessive for ampullary adenomas (AAs) due to its high morbidity and mortality. Transduodenal ampullectomy (TDA) is generally reserved for small benign lesions where endoscopic treatment fails, but its role in early ampullary cancers is debatable.

Many enveloped viruses bud from the plasma membrane that is tightly associated with a dense and thick actin cortex. This actin network represents a significant challenge for membrane deformation and scission, and how it is remodeled during the late steps of the viral cycle is largely unknown. Using superresolution microscopy, we show that HIV-1 buds in areas of the plasma membrane with low cortical F-actin levels.

Our study aimed to explore the relationship between pre- and post-LT frailty in a multicenter European cohort of outpatients with cirrhosis undergoing LT.
Methods: We conducted a prospective analysis of data from 180 LT recipients recruited between 2018 and 2020 from 5 Spanish centers.
Background & Aims: Infections by multidrug-resistant bacteria (MDRB) are an increasing healthcare problem worldwide. This study analyzes the incidence, burden, and risk factors associated with MDRB infections after liver transplant(ation) (LT).
Methods: This retrospective, multicenter cohort study included adult patients who underwent LT between January 2017 and January 2020.
Introduction: Surgery is the only potentially curative treatment for colorectal cancer liver metastases (CRLM) and its indication and results have varied in the last 30 years.
Methods: All patients operated on for CRLM in our centre from 1990 to 2021 were prospectively collected, establishing 3 subgroups based on the year of the first surgery: group A 1990-1999, group B 2000-2010, group C 2011-2021. Clinical characteristics and the results of survival, recurrence and prognostic factors were compared.
