Background: While effective, DAc injections for submental fat (SMF) reduction carry risks, including vascular damage and skin necrosis when improperly administered. This study presents a novel approach to SMF reduction using blunt microcannulas for DAc injections, coupled with 3D stereophotogrammetry quantification (3D-SQ).
Clinical Presentation: A 47-year-old female with SMF underwent two DAc applications.
Paroxysmal atrio-ventricular (AV) block is a relatively rare form of bradyarrhythmia that may be caused by vagal reflex, intrinsic His-Prukinje system (HPS) disorder, or idiopathic mechanisms. We report a case with paroxysmal AV block and syncopal episodes that appeared only during intra-atrial reentrant tachycardia (IART) after an ablation procedure. Syncope did not occur under sinus rhythm with stable 1:1 AV conduction.

Although AF ablation has become an established treatment for patients with HF, it is usually an elective procedure. Here, we present a case of acute decompensated heart failure (ADHF) exacerbated by refractory AF, which was successfully treated with emergent AF ablation.

They did not have adequately large amounts of urine protein so as to cause nephrotic syndrome; however, we were unable to determine any cause of hypoproteinemia other than proteinuria. The renal pathology revealed foot process effacement, and hyaline droplet degeneration, suggesting urine protein hyper-reabsorption in the proximal convoluted tubule.

A multiphase cross-sectional study was conducted at the General Medicine Clinic of Saga Medical School Hospital in phase I (1998-1999), phase II (2001-2002), and phase III (2009-2010). A total of 1,963 patient ratings for 437 medical students' performance was analyzed.
