Article Synopsis
  • - The ideal method for diagnosing acute chest pain is controversial, especially with the increasing use of coronary computed tomography angiography (CTA) and the declining popularity of functional tests like stress echocardiography (SE).
  • - While coronary CTA has many benefits, it also has limitations, necessitating a clear understanding of when SE should be used and which patients require diagnostic testing.
  • - This review article examines the role of SE, relevant guidelines, and compares the effectiveness of SE versus CTA, while also discussing new factors that could enhance SE in the context of evolving cardiovascular diagnostics.
