Background/aim: Measures to control adverse events (AEs) in the use of oral multi-kinase inhibitors (OMI) are important for the continuation of treatment.

Patients And Methods: In this study, oncology pharmacists monitored symptoms of patients receiving outpatient therapy with OMIs in real-time using a smartphone Web app for the early detection/early treatment of AEs. This feasibility study evaluated the effects of using the app in 10 patients compared with data from 10 patients who did not use the app.

We started a registry for cases of immunoglobulin (Ig)G4-related disease (IgG4-RD) in December 2019 to clarify the clinical profile of IgG4-RD. In this study, clinical information from 854 cases registered by February 16, 2024 was analyzed from multiple perspectives. Diagnosis of IgG4-RD was made in 808 cases, comprising 638 definite, 38 probable, and 132 possible.

Breast phyllodes tumors are rare mesenchymal tumors, often accompanied by internal cysts, hemorrhages, infarctions, and necrosis. The tumor exhibits rapid growth, especially when infarct necrosis occurs within the tumor. In the current report, we showed a woman in her 50s who noticed a rapidly growing breast mass and received an excisional biopsy diagnosis of a phyllodes tumor with hemorrhagic infarction.

This paper proposes a page-turning strategy using an assistive robot that has a low-degree-of-freedom robotic hand. The robotic hand is based on human object handling characteristics, which significantly reduces the number of fingers and joints required to handle various objects. The robotic hand has right and left planar fingers that can transform their shape to handle various objects.
