In-situ gamma-ray measurement to estimate depth distribution of Cs in farmland in Fukushima Prefecture.

Radioactive cesium released into the atmosphere caused by the Fukushima Dai-ichi Nuclear Power Plant accident in March 2011 has contaminated the surrounding area. We confirmed the applicability of in-situ methods to evaluate the depth distribution of Cs by employing the ratio of Compton-scattering and photo-peak components (r) obtained from measured gamma-ray spectra. In the present study, we applied the in-situ method to farmlands in Fukushima Prefecture whose sites were disturbed by decontamination and plowing operations.

Quadrant, necrosis, and infection criteria for the risk stratification of walled-off necrosis: external validation using multi-institutional data.

Background And Aims: Endoscopic ultrasound-guided peripancreatic fluid drainage (EUS-PFD) with on-demand endoscopic necrosectomy, increasingly utilized to manage walled-off necrosis (WON), is associated with substantial morbidity and mortality. Formation and in vitro starch digestibility of amylose-lipid complex using cooked rice starch and an emulsified formulation.

This study aimed to investigate amylose-lipid complex (ALC) formation and starch digestibility in cooked rice starches (CRSs) with the addition of 0, 5, and 10 % emulsified formulation (EMF). The addition of EMF did not affect the content of non-starch lipids but tended to increase the content of total lipids and starch lipids. The absorption rate of 995 cm/1022 cm of CRSs increased with the addition of EMF, while that of 1047 cm/1022 cm remained unchanged regardless of the addition of EMF.
