A scoping review was carried out with the aim of mapping the existing literature on the association between sleep/awake bruxism and primary headache (migraine and tension headache) in children and adolescents. This scoping review followed the method proposed by Arksey & O'Malley and the Joanna Briggs Institute Manual for Evidence Synthesis and was reported following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses-Extension for Scoping Reviews (PRISMA-ScR). The methods were registered in the Open Science Framework ( View Article and Find Full Text PDF

Pain and psychological stress are intricately linked, with sex differences evident in disorders associated with both systems. Glutamatergic signalling in the central nervous system is influenced by gonadal hormones via the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis and is central in pain research. Emerging evidence supports an important role for the gut microbiota in influencing pain signalling.

Background: Culex quinquefasciatus plays a crucial role as a vector of West Nile virus (WNV). This mosquito species is widely distributed in Cape Verde, being found in all inhabited islands of the archipelago. However, no data are currently available on the susceptibility of the local mosquito population to WNV.

This review delves into the significant cellular and molecular responses triggered by UVR exposure in human skin, emphasizing the pivotal role of mutant p53 (mutp53) in the carcinogenic process elicited by radiation. By underlining the role of a functional p53 in safeguarding skin cells from UVR-induced damage, this work underscores the potential significance of targeting mutp53, aiming to restore its wild-type-like activity (reactivation), as a protective strategy against skin cancer (SC), particularly NMSC. Most importantly, an interesting crosstalk between p53 and its vitamin D receptor (VDR) transcriptional target is also highlighted in the suppression of skin carcinogenesis, which opens the way to promising chemopreventive strategies involving synergistic combinations between mutp53 reactivators and vitamin D.

In this study, recycled acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene terpolymer (ABSr) was reused to produce polyamide 6 (PA6)-based blends. This was achieved through reactive compatibilization using styrene-acrylonitrile-maleic anhydride (SAN-g-MA) copolymer with a high degree of functionalization (6-10% MA). The PA6/ABSr and PA6/ABSr/SAN-g-MA blends were prepared through melt processing and injection molding and then analyzed for their rheological, mechanical, thermomechanical, thermal, and structural properties, as well as morphology.
