Purpose: Cardiac autonomic dysfunction has been reported in patients with long-standing multiple sclerosis (MS); however, data in early disease are limited. The present study was aimed at evaluating cardiac autonomic function in patients with early MS in the context of white matter metabolic status, which could potentially affect functions of the autonomic brain centers.
Methods: Cardiac sympathetic and baroreflex cardiovagal responses to the Valsalva maneuver, orthostatic test, and the Stroop test were evaluated in 16 early, treatment-naïve patients with relapsing-remitting MS, and in 14 healthy participants.
EXT1/EXT2-CDG (Multiple cartilagineous exostoses, hereditary multiple osteochondroma (MO); OMIM 133700/133701) are common defects of O-xylosylglycan glycosylation. The diagnostic criteria are at least two osteochondromas of the juxta-epiphyseal region of long bones with in the majority of cases a positive family history and/or mutation in one of the EXT genes. The authors report data on clinical symptoms and complications of 23 patients (from 16 families), discussing the family history, age of diagnosis, new clinical and molecular data.

Material And Method: Since 1990, 66 patients with peri-acetabular bone malignancies have been treated by extensive resection followed by hand-modelled innominate prosthesis with partially constrained total hip prosthesis. The hand-modelled innominate prosthesis was made of a titanium cup, a set of long titanium screws and two or three packs of gentamycine-loaded cement.
