To establish the extent, distribution and frequency of in-vivo vessel wall [Ga]Ga-PentixaFor uptake and to determine its relationship with calcified atherosclerotic plaque burden (CAP) and cardiovascular risk factors (CVRF). 65 oncological patients undergoing [Ga]Ga-PentixaFor PET/CT were assessed. Radiotracer uptake (target-to-background ratio [TBR]) and CAP burden (including number of CAP sites, calcification circumference and thickness) in seven major vessel segments per patient were determined.

Dynamic kinetic resolution (DKR) is a key method used to prepare optically pure compounds in 100 % theoretical yield starting from racemic substrates by combining the interconversion of substrate enantiomers with an enantioselective transformation. Various chemoenzymatic DKR approaches have been developed to deracemize secondary alcohols, typically requiring an organic solvent to facilitate enantioselective acylation, primarily catalyzed by lipases, alongside racemization mediated by an achiral, non-enzymatic catalyst. Achieving both steps in an aqueous solution remained elusive.

Stabilized enzymes are crucial for the industrial application of biocatalysis due to their enhanced operational stability, which leads to prolonged enzyme activity, cost-efficiency and consequently scalability of biocatalytic processes. Over the past decade, numerous studies have demonstrated that deep eutectic solvents (DES) are excellent enzyme stabilizers. Background: 7 T cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) studies may enable higher precision in clinical metrics like cardiac function, ventricular mass, and more. Higher precision may allow early detection of functional impairment and early evaluation of treatment responses in clinical practice and pre-clinical studies.

Methods: Seven female German Landrace pigs were scanned prior to and at three time points (3-4 days, 7-10 days, and ~60 days) post myocardial infarction using a whole body 7 T system and three radiofrequency (RF) coils developed and built in-house to accompany animal growth.

Background: Pulsed field ablation (PFA) has become increasingly important in the treatment of cardiac arrhythmias. In addition to single-shot devices mainly used for pulmonary vein isolation, focal PFA may provide a treatment option that increases the versatility of the technique.
