Chemical Mobilization-Based Capillary Isoelectric Focusing-Mass Spectrometry Using the nanoCEasy Interface for Pharmaceutical Protein Analysis.

Capillary isoelectric focusing (CIEF) coupled with electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (ESI-MS) is regarded as an outstanding approach for protein and proteoform analysis, combining a high-resolution separation technique and an enhanced detection technique. The few so-far developed CIEF-ESI-MS approaches exhibit limitations regarding sensitivity and separation performance. Here, we report a new generic methodology for CIEF-ESI-MS based on chemical mobilization, leading to highly efficient separation.

Medical students' experiences, perceptions, and management of second victim: an interview study.

Background: The term second victim describes a healthcare professional who has been involved in an adverse event and feels wounded by the event. The effects of this experience differ. It can present as second victim syndrome, describing a wide range and degree of emotional and behavioural responses.

Implementation of ultrasound-guided carpal tunnel release.

Introduction: Ultra-minimally invasive ultrasound-guided carpal tunnel release is a surgical procedure for treatment of carpal tunnel syndrome that is associated with less surgery-related morbidity and faster recovery than open surgery. The objectives of this study were to describe how the surgical technique may be acquired and to report the results obtained after implementation in a clinical setting.

Methods: The study consisted of two parts: 1) description of the surgical skills needed to perform the procedure, and 2) evaluation of the procedure in the first ten consecutively operated patients after 12-month follow-up using questionnaires and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).

Complete Genome Sequence of the Lysogenic Pseudomonas Bacteriophage Fyn8.

A temperate bacteriophage infecting Pseudomonas aeruginosa PAO1 was isolated from river water. Nanopore sequencing revealed that it has a circular double-stranded DNA genome of 45,617 bp, containing typical phage structural proteins and lambda-like lysogeny regulators. Putative O-antigen serotype conversion and anti-cyclic oligonucleotide-based antiphage signaling system (CBASS) defense system proteins were also identified.

Simulation-based training for continuing professional development within a primary care context: a systematic review.

Background: Given the increasing complexity of tasks transferred to primary care, discipline-specific educational opportunities are required for those working within this context. Simulation-based training (SBT) is widely applied within a hospital setting, underpinned by extensive research. However, little is known about the transfer of simulations' utility to primary care.
