The highly valued oil of Mill. (Rosaceae), widely used in high perfumery, cosmetics, and other spheres of human life, obliges us to know and study the safety profile of the product obtained from the water-steam distillation of fresh rose petals. The genotoxicity of the essential oil (EsO) has not been thoroughly studied despite its wide range of applications.

This study was conducted using neuronal and glial cell cultures differentiated from induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC) of healthy donors (HD) and PD patients with different mutations (PD). Based on the results of RNA sequencing, qPCR and ELISA, we revealed transcriptional and post-transcriptional changes in HD and PD neurons cultivated in HD and PD glial-conditioned medium.

Herein, we report the direct C-H bond thiolation of electron-rich heterocycles, arenes, and 1,3-dicarbonyls by dichlorosulfuranes under mild conditions. Mechanistic studies and density functional theory calculations suggest the radical chain mechanism of the disclosed transformation.
