Person identification is a critical task in applications such as security and surveillance, requiring reliable systems that perform robustly under diverse conditions. This study evaluates the Vision Transformer (ViT) and ResNet34 models across three modalities-RGB, thermal, and depth-using datasets collected with infrared array sensors and LiDAR sensors in controlled scenarios and varying resolutions (16 × 12 to 640 × 480) to explore their effectiveness in person identification. Preprocessing techniques, including YOLO-based cropping, were employed to improve subject isolation.

However, the development of clinically approved boron drugs remains challenging. We have previously reported on self-forming nanoparticles for drug delivery consisting of a biodegradable polymer, namely, "AB-type" Lactosome nanoparticles (AB-Lac particles)- highly loaded with hydrophobic B compounds, namely -Carborane (Carb) or 1,2-dihexyl--Carborane (diC6-Carb), and the latter (diC6-Carb) especially showed the "molecular glue" effect.

Methods: Patients aged 45-80 years with dyslipidemia who were not on statins before enrollment and had experienced a non-cardioembolic stroke were assigned to either the pravastatin group or the control group in a randomized trial. Patients were classified into three groups according to BP levels: normal BP (N-group: systolic BP [sBP] <140 mmHg and diastolic BP [dBP] <90 mmHg), highly elevated BP (G2 group: sBP ≥160 mmHg or dBP ≥100 mmHg), and mildly elevated BP (G1 group: the remaining patients).
Background: The identification of surgical candidates is a critical issue in patients with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)-negative drug-resistant focal epilepsy and latent accompanying resectable lesions, such as focal cortical dysplasia (FCD). Recently, periodic seizure cycles have been associated with FCD in both patients with MRI-positive and MRI-negative epilepsy. We investigated the presurgical evaluation and postsurgical outcome of patients with MRI-negative epilepsy with FCD and a history of periodic seizure cycles.

As the population ages and obesity rates rise, the societal burden of OA is increasing. Pro-inflammatory cytokines, particularly interleukin-1β, are implicated in the pathogenesis of OA.
