Cellular prion protein (PrP) is a glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)-anchored cell-surface protein. The mature cell-surface PrP is internalized and subsequently degraded by lysosomes. Although, proteasomes are proposed to be involved, the precise mechanism of PrP degradation remains uncertain.

Background: Canine corneal disease is a common condition encountered in daily practice. If the depth of corneal damage is limited to the epithelial layer, healing is often straightforward; however, if it extends into the epithelial basement membrane or corneal parenchyma, surgical treatment is the treatment of choice. Moreover, in cases where there is an underlying disease or where the owner refuses surgical treatment, treatment options are often limited to eye drop treatment, which may be inadequate.

We present a novel approach to traction force microscopy (TFM) for studying the locomotion of 10 cm long walking centipedes on soft substrates. Leveraging the remarkable elasticity and ductility of kudzu starch gels, we use them as a deformable gel substrate, providing resilience against the centipedes' sharp leg tips. By optimizing fiducial marker size and density and fine-tuning imaging conditions, we enhance measurement accuracy.
