Benchmarking adult CT-dose levels to regional and national references using a dose-tracking software: a multicentre experience.

Objectives: To benchmark CT-dose data for standard adult CT studies to regional and national reference levels using a dose-tracking system.

Methods: Data from five CT systems from three hospitals were collected over a 1- to 2.5-year period (2012-2014), using the same type of dose management system.

Benchmarking pediatric cranial CT protocols using a dose tracking software system: a multicenter study.

Objectives: To benchmark regional standard practice for paediatric cranial CT-procedures in terms of radiation dose and acquisition parameters.

Methods: Paediatric cranial CT-data were retrospectively collected during a 1-year period, in 3 different hospitals of the same country. A dose tracking system was used to automatically gather information.

Bronchial Atresia.

A 48-year-old male smoker with no significant previous medical history presented to the emergency department with acute respiratory distress, characterized by dyspnea and nonspecific chest pain. Laboratory findings and electrocardiography (ECG) were normal.

Ureteral obstruction caused by schistosomiasis.

We report a unusual case of hydro-ureteronephrosis caused by schistosomiasis in a 66-year-old female. Computed tomography (CT) and biochemistry initially suggested a transitional cell carcinoma of the left proximal ureter. The patient was referred for reno-ureterectomy, but histopathological examination of the resection specimen demonstrated deposits of Schistosoma haematobium eggs.

PNET/Ewing's sarcoma of the kidney: imaging findings in two cases.

The CT-imaging findings of primary renal PNET/Ewing's sarcoma in two patients were retrospectively assessed. A large renal mass with heterogenous contrast enhancement and necrotic and hemorrhagic areas were the predominant characteristics. In adolescents or young adults presenting with a large renal mass, PNET/Ewing's sarcoma may be included in the differential diagnosis.
