The reductive conversion of vicinal and geminal dibromoalkenes into the corresponding alkynes with PrMgCl-LiCl (Turbo Grignard reagent) is described. This reaction proceeded in the presence of various functional groups such as ethers, esters, or carbamates under mild conditions in high yields. Due to the selective reactivity, the easily prepared -dibromoalkene is considered to be a protecting group of alkyne toward an electrophile.

Based on preliminary reports regarding the potential association of HCC and periodontitis, this study aimed to analyze the involvement of periodontal bacteria as well as the oral and intestinal bacterial flora in MASH-related HCC (MASH-HCC). : Forty-one patients with MASH and nineteen with MASH-HCC participated in the study, completing survey questionnaires, undergoing periodontal examinations, and providing samples of saliva, mouth-rinsed water, feces, and peripheral blood.

Objective: To investigate the associations of brain and cSC magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) measures with sensorimotor impairment in MS.
Methods: One hundred fifty-one MS patients and 69 healthy controls underwent 3T MRI and clinical assessments including Expanded Disability Status Scale (EDSS), 9-hole peg test (9-HPT), finger tapping test (FTT), timed 25-foot walk test (T25FWT), and vibration detection threshold (VDT).
Background: We determined the effects and an accurate marker of periodontal treatment on serum interleukin (IL)-6 and high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (HsCRP) levels in systemically healthy individuals with periodontal disease.
Methods: This multicenter study included systemically healthy individuals with periodontal disease who received initial periodontal treatment and had no periodontal treatment history. Periodontal parameters, including periodontal inflamed surface area, masticatory efficiency, and periodontal disease classification; serum IL-6 and HsCRP levels; and serum immunoglobulin (Ig)G titers against periodontal pathogens were evaluated at baseline and after treatment.
Background: The hippocampus is a clinically relevant region where neurogenesis and neuroplasticity occur throughout the whole lifespan. Neuroinflammation and cardiorespiratory fitness (CRF) may influence hippocampal integrity by modulating the processes promoting neurogenesis and neuroprotection that contribute to the preservation of functions. This study aimed to investigate the effects of neuroinflammation and CRF on hippocampal volume in multiple sclerosis (MS) patients with relapsing-remitting (RR) and progressive (P) clinical phenotypes.
