Article Synopsis
  • This study explores the use of a post-tetanic MEP augmentation technique to improve baseline recordings during craniotomies while minimizing neuromuscular blockade (NMB).
  • It involved 26 patients, maintaining a partial NMB level to achieve successful MEPs through tetanic stimulation of the median nerve before transcranial stimulation.
  • The technique increased the success rate of recordings to 100% and improved response amplitudes without causing any unexpected movements, suggesting it could be an effective approach for safer craniotomy procedures.

Juvenile myasthenia gravis (JMG) exhibits a more favorable response to glucocorticoids and has a better prognosis than adult myasthenia gravis. However, no established treatment exists for refractory JMG. Although thymectomy has been performed in several patients with refractory systemic JMG, there are few detailed clinical descriptions of patients who underwent thymectomy.

  • The study investigates the effectiveness and safety of amrubicin (AMR) therapy in patients with recurrent small cell lung cancer (SCLC) following treatment with immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) and chemotherapy.
  • A total of 30 patients were analyzed, with median progression-free survival of 3.8 months and overall survival of 10 months; results were similar regardless of cancer sensitivity to prior treatments.
  • The most frequent serious side effect was severe neutropenia, affecting 73% of patients, leading to two cases of treatment discontinuation due to adverse effects.
