A New Histology-Based Prognostic Index for Aggressive T-Cell lymphoma: Preliminary Results of the "TCL Urayasu Classification".

Aggressive mature T-cell lymphoma (TCL) is a disease that carries a poor prognosis. We analyzed the expression of 22 tumor cell functional proteins in 16 randomly selected patients with TCL. Immunohistochemistry was performed in paraffin-embedded tumor tissue sections to determine the protein expression statuses in tumor cells.

Risk of recurrent venous thromboembolism and major bleeding according to risk factor profiles in Asian patients: a subgroup analysis EINSTEIN-Extension and EINSTEIN-CHOICE.

Background: Risks of recurrence and major bleeding with extended anticoagulation in Asian patients with venous thromboembolism (VTE) are similar to those in non-Asian patients but risks according to baseline risk factor profiles is not well documented.

Methods: Subgroup analysis of two randomized trials, which compared once-daily rivaroxaban (20 mg or 10 mg) with placebo or aspirin (100 mg) for extended treatment in Asian patients with VTE who had completed 6-12 months of anticoagulation. Index events were classified as unprovoked, provoked by major persistent risk factors, minor persistent risk factors, minor transient risk factors, or major transient risk factors.

Changes in chronic myeloid leukemia treatment modalities and outcomes after introduction of second-generation tyrosine kinase inhibitors as first-line therapy: a multi-institutional retrospective study by the CML Cooperative Study Group.

This study investigated changes in treatment modalities and outcomes of chronic myeloid leukemia in the chronic phase (CP-CML) after the approval of second-generation tyrosine kinase inhibitors (2G-TKIs) for first-line therapy. Patients were grouped into those who underwent TKI therapy up to December 2010 (imatinib era group, n = 185) and after January 2011 (2G-TKI era group, n = 425). All patients in the imatinib era group were initially treated with imatinib, whereas patients in the 2G-TKI era group were mostly treated with dasatinib (55%) or nilotinib (36%).

Possible New Histological Prognostic Index for Large B-Cell Lymphoma.

We conducted a retrospective analysis of GRP94 immunohistochemical (IHC) staining, an ER stress protein, on large B-cell lymphoma (LBCL) cells, intracellular p53, and 15 factors involved in the metabolism of the CHOP regimen: AKR1C3 (HO metabolism), CYP3A4 (CHOP metabolism), and HO efflux pumps (MDR1 and MRP1). The study subjects were 42 patients with LBCL at our hospital. The IHC staining used antibodies against the 17 factors.
