Five children with malignancies developed invasive pulmonary aspergillosis during chemotherapy-induced neutropenia. All patients were treated with liposomal amphotericin B and human recombinant granulocyte colony-stimulating factor. Two patients did not recover from bone marrow aplasia and died from organ-infiltrating fungal invasion.
