The main symptoms of Meige's syndrome are involuntary eye blinking with muddled speech and uncontrollable contraction of the platysma muscle characterized by segmental, primarily oromandibular, dystonia (hyperkinesia). It can also develop after long-term medication of first- and second-generation antipsychotics. Here, we report the case of a Japanese female schizophrenic patient comorbid with Meige's syndrome and hyperthyroidism.

Methods: The subject group consisted of 10 healthy, fully dentate males. Two experimental palatal plates (EPP) were used in this study: one was 1.
Complete genomic sequences of garlic viruses A (Gar V-A) and C (Gar V-C), members of an unassigned virus group recently identified in garlic plants, were determined. Their respective genomes consist of 8 660 and 8 405 nucleotides. The genomic structure and organization of these viruses are similar to shallot virus X (ShVX) which is the type species of the newly ratified genus Allexivirus.

Complementary DNA encoding lysozyme was subjected to site-directed mutagenesis to have the Asn-X-Thr(Ser) sequence that is the signal for asparagine-linked glycosylation at the positions 49. The glycosyl lysozyme enhanced heat stability was expressed in the yeast carrying the modified lysozyme cDNA.

A total of fifteen cDNAs encoding the coat protein (CP) of the carlaviruses, including the biologically identified isolates SLV, GLV and GCLV as well as viruses from infected Allium plants cultivated in different parts of the world, were amplified by RT-PCR with the common primers. The cDNAs were then cloned and sequenced.
