INFORMATIONAL STRESS AS A DEPRESSION INDUCING FACTOR (EXPERIMENTAL STUDY).

Chronic psychogenic stress represents the major initiating agent of psychoneural diseases including depression. We used informational stress model for the purpose of modelling chronic psychogenic stress and depression. The aim of the research was to study behavior of dominant and submissive rats at different stages of informational stress and during depression state.

BEHAVIORAL CHARACTERISTICS OF RATS ON VARIOUS HIERARCHICAL LEVEL CAUSED BY ACUTE INFORMATIONAL STRESS.

The aim of our research was to study behavioral indices of rats standing on various hierarchical level in the conditions of acute informational stress as well as their resistance to stress taking into account their social status. The Animal's behavior has been studied in conflict and agonist conditions against the background of high food and thirst motivation. After determination of hierarchical relations the stressing procedure of two active avoidance reactions was performed simultaneously during one trial (14 days).

[Chronic psychogenic stress as a factor of formation depressive behavior in rats].

The problem of adequate animal model of depression still remains. In our experiments depression-like condition on white rats were reached by the chronic stressors of psychogenic nature. Stress was carried out in a modified shuttle chamber of active avoidance.

Possible relation of plasma testosterone level to aggressive behavior of male prisoners.

Analysis of testosterone concentration in the blood and urine concentration of norepinephrine and epinephrine showed that testosterone level in aggressive prisoners was higher than in moderately aggressive prisoners, although both concentrations were near the low boundary of normal. The level of norepinephrine was also higher in aggressive prisoners than in moderately aggressive jailed inmates. These data and published reports attest to pronounced role of norepinephrine in the formation the aggressive behavior.

Social isolation rearing of rats decreases the nervous system's resistance to the psychogenic stress stimuli.

Established that one of the factors promoting development of the psycho-nervous diseases, are various kinds of social deprivation. The purpose of this study was investigation of importance of social interactions at the early period of postnatal in development of resistance of the nervous system against the psychogenic stress in the adult rats. At weaning, male albino outbred rats from three litters were housed socially (control rats) (n=12) or in isolation (n=14) for 8 weeks.
