Cell surface protein B (CspB) fusion proteins can undergo reversible pH-responsive precipitation-redissolution. A pH-responsive precipitation-redissolution of CspB tag purification (pPRCP) method was established for protein purification using this property. However, the mechanism of the pH-responsive precipitation of CspB fusion proteins is unknown, which has made it difficult to set process parameters for pPRCP.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFWe herein report the case of a patient who showed pure anomia and amnesia caused by hemorrhage in the left thalamus, involving the anterior, ventral anterior, and mediodorsal nuclei. It was revealed that the anomia was characterized by impaired retrieval of object names, which was more pronounced in artificial objects, and abundant perseveration, whereas the amnesia was mild and limited to daily routine events, which was made clear from the results of an episodic memory scale. Detailed lesion localization and literature review revealed that a combination of pure anomia and amnesia can occur in a lesion involving the anterior, ventral anterior, or mediodorsal nucleus of the thalamus.

In this study, we used comprehensive proteome analysis and identified lipocalin 15 (LCN15), a human-specific lipocalin family protein, as an abundant component of the olfactory mucus. Western blot analysis and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) using a newly generated anti-LCN15 antibody showed that LCN15 was concentrated in olfactory mucus samples, but not in respiratory mucus samples.

Here, we show two types of RNase-sensitive DBC1-containing NBs, DBC1 nuclear body (DNB) in HCT116 cells and Sam68 nuclear body (SNB) in HeLa cells, that exhibit phase-separated features and are constructed using RNA polymerase I or II transcripts in a cell type-specific manner.
