Haloperidol, a conventional antipsychotic, was mixed with piperine in a ketamine-induced schizophrenia rat model to evaluate the interaction potential of this mixture through in-vitro and in-vivo analyses. Piperine, known for its CYP450 enzyme inhibitory effects, enhances the bioavailability of various drugs. Initial in-vitro assays using a high-throughput fluorometric method showed that the haloperidol-piperine mixture inhibited CYP3A4 and CYP2D6 enzymes, comparable to positive controls.

Ionizable lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) have gained attention as mRNA delivery platforms for vaccination against COVID-19 and for protein replacement therapies. LNPs enhance mRNA stability, circulation time, cellular uptake, and preferential delivery to specific tissues compared to mRNA with no carrier platform. However, LNPs are only in the beginning stages of development for safe and effective mRNA delivery to the placenta to treat placental dysfunction.

Fibroblast growth factor 23 (FGF23) plays a significant role in phosphate homeostasis but data on children are limited. We aimed to detect FGF23 levels in 107 healthy children aged 6-16 years and evaluate its correlation with markers of phosphate and calcium metabolism, and the dietary intake of calcium, phosphate, and proteins. Height, weight, and Tanner stages were measured, and dietary intake was calculated.
