Dataset on density functional theory investigation of ternary Heusler alloys.

This paper contains data and results from Density Functional Theory (DFT) investigation of 423 distinct ternary full Heusler alloys, where and represent elements from the D-block of the periodic table and signifies element from main group. The study encompasses both "regular" and "inverse" Heusler phases of these alloys for a total of 846 potential materials. For each specific alloy and each phase, a range of information is provided including total energy, formation energy, lattice constant, total and site-specific magnetic moments, spin polarization as well as total and projected density of electronic states.

Long-term prognosis of diabetic foot patients and their limbs: amputation and death over the course of a decade.

Objective: There is a dearth of long-term data regarding patient and limb survival in patients with diabetic foot ulcers (DFUs). The purpose of our study was therefore to prospectively investigate the limb and person survival of DFU patients during a follow-up period of more than 10 years.

Research Design And Methods: Two hundred forty-seven patients with DFUs and without previous major amputation consecutively presenting to a single diabetes center between June 1998 and December 1999 were included in this study and followed up until May 2011.

Scintigraphy and treatment of medullary carcinoma of the thyroid with iodine-131 metaiodobenzylguanidine.

We report our experience using [131I]metaiodobenzylguanidine (MIBG) to image nine patients with proven medullary carcinoma of the thyroid (MCT). Positive uptake was seen in four patients, equivocal uptake in one patient, and no uptake in four patients. Data is presented to demonstrate the pharmacokinetics of [131I]MIBG in three of the patients studied.
