Behavioral Consequences of Hippocampal 5-HT7 Receptors Blockade in Stressed Rats.

Serotonin (5-HT) has long been involved in response to stress and its effect may be, in part, mediated by 5-HT1a and 5-HT7 receptor subtypes in different brain structures. Both pre- and post-synaptic activation of 5-HT1a receptor, respectively, in the rat median raphe nucleus (MnRN) and hippocampus, lead to adaptation to acute inescapable stressors such as restraint and forced swim. 5-HT7 receptor (5HT7r), a stimulatory G-protein coupled receptor, has also been investigated as a possible candidate for mediating stress response.

Influence of Light-Curing Time and Increment Thickness on the Properties of Bulk Fill Composite Resins With Distinct Application Systems.

The objective of this study was to evaluate the influence of light-curing time and increment thickness on the microhardness and degree of conversion (DC) of bulk fill composite resins with different application systems. Translucency parameter (TP) was also measured. Specimens of resin composites were prepared in a circular matrix using a single increment with different thicknesses (2, 4, and 6 mm) and light-cured with distinct times (10, 20, and 40 s).

Involution symmetry quantification using recurrences.

Symmetries are ubiquitous in science, aiding theoretical comprehension by discerning patterns in mathematical models and natural phenomena. This work introduces a method for assessing the extent of symmetry within a time series. We explore both microscopic and macroscopic features extracted from a recurrence plot.

Recurrence microstates for machine learning classification.

Recurrence microstates are obtained from the cross recurrence of two sequences of values embedded in a time series, being the generalization of the concept of recurrence of a given state in phase space. The probability of occurrence of each microstate constitutes a recurrence quantifier. The set of probabilities of all microstates are capable of detecting even small changes in the data pattern.

Assessment of crAssphage as a biological variable for SARS-CoV-2 data normalization in wastewater surveillance.

Aims: This study aimed to assess the use of cross-assembled phage (crAssphage) as an endogenous control employing a multivariate normalization analysis and its application as a severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) data normalizer.

Methods And Results: A total of 188 twelve-hour composite raw sewage samples were obtained from eight wastewater treatment plants (WWTP) during a 1-year monitoring period. Employing the N1 and N2 target regions, SARS-CoV-2 RNA was detected in 94% (177) and 90% (170) of the samples, respectively, with a global median of 5 log10 genomic copies per liter (GC l-1).
