Accurate detection and quantification of unruptured intracranial aneurysms (UIAs) is important for rupture risk assessment and to allow an informed treatment decision to be made. Currently, 2D manual measures used to assess UIAs on Time-of-Flight magnetic resonance angiographies (TOF-MRAs) lack 3D information and there is substantial inter-observer variability for both aneurysm detection and assessment of aneurysm size and growth. 3D measures could be helpful to improve aneurysm detection and quantification but are time-consuming and would therefore benefit from a reliable automatic UIA detection and segmentation method.

Background: Predictors of long-term outcome after ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) complicated by out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) are incompletely understood, including the influence of successful coronary reperfusion.

Methods: We analysed clinical and procedural data as well as 1-year outcome of 72 consecutive patients who underwent primary coronary intervention (PCI) after witnessed OHCA and STEMI and compared the results with 695 patients with STEMI and PCI, but without OHCA. Neurological recovery after OHCA was assessed using the Cerebral Performance Category (CPC) scale.

Cystathionine beta-synthase is a key heme and pyridoxal phosphate-dependent enzyme involved in homocysteine metabolism in humans. The role of the recently discovered heme in this protein remains an important open question. The axial ligands to the heme in both the ferrous and ferric states have been assigned as cysteine and histidine residues, respectively.

Reduction of Zr(O-2,6-Me(2)C(6)H(3))Cl(2)[N(SiMe(2)CH(2)PPr(i)(2))(2)] with sodium amalgam under dinitrogen yields the dinuclear zirconium dinitrogen complex {[(Pr(i)(2)PCH(2)SiMe(2))(2)N]Zr(O-2,6-Me(2)C(6)H(3))}(2)(&mgr;-eta(2):eta(2)-N(2)). Solid state structural analysis shows that the dinitrogen unit is bound in a side-on mode of coordination with the N-N bond distance at 1.528(7) Å; resonance Raman spectra show a band at 751 cm(-)(1) for nu(N-N), which is consistent with this very long bond.
