Throughout the history of power systems, power cables have been used to securely and efficiently distribute electrical energy to the destined locations. Cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE), a commonly used insulator in high-voltage cables, have several desirable properties, such as low dielectric loss, high dielectric constant, high thermal conductivity, enhanced thermal stability, and superior resistance against electrical stress. However, further improvements of XLPE's performance are needed.

A primary cilium is a membrane-bound extension from the cell surface that contains receptors for perceiving and transmitting signals that modulate cell state and activity. Flexible laser-scribed graphene (LSG) substrates with gold nanoislands have been developed as biochips for in situ electrochemical (EC) and surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) biodetection (biomolecules and viral proteins). A flexible biochip was fabricated using CO laser engraving polyimide (PI) films to form a 3D porous graphene-like nanostructure. Gold nanoislands were deposited on the LSG substrates to enhance the intensity of the Raman signals.

Background: Neuropathy of the common peroneal nerve caused by compression by a fabella is an extremely rare form of compression neuropathy. Involving both the superficial and deep peroneal nerves, it usually manifests as either impaired sensation from the lower lateral leg to the top of the foot or drop foot, or as a combination of both.

Case Summary: We report the case of a 58-year-old Asian female who presented with inversion of the right foot during the stance phase of gait without sensory complaints related to the lower leg.
