[Are oppressive dreams indicators in bereavement?].

Objectives: It is widely believed that oppressive dreams are frequent in bereavement--despite the lack of scientific investigations of the subject. The aims of our study were the analysis of dream quality as well as the correlates of oppressive dreams in bereavement.

Method: Participants with (N = 473) and without bereavement were compared upon the database of a national representative study (Hungarostudy Epidemiological Panel Survey 2006, N = 4329).

[The first clinical experiences in Hungary with a new effective antibiotic (linezolid) effective against Gram-positive infections].

Introduction: The occurrence of gram-positive infections caused by multiresistant organisms has increased significantly in general, particularly among the surgical patients, and only a few effective antibiotics are available. A new and effective, synthetic antibiotic, against gram-positives is the oxazolidinon group, that electively inhibits bacterial protein synthesis in the early phase. Linezolid, the first member of this group to be used in clinical practice is the linezolid was studied.

[Risk factors of infected pancreatic necrosis, its microbiology and antibiotic treatment].

Acute pancreatitis is associated with greater and smaller necrosis in 20% of the cases. The lethality rate of sterile and infected necrosis is 10 and 15-40%, respectively. The results of a retrospective and a prospective study in acute pancreatitis have been analyzed in this study.

[Experience with microbiological studies of the diabetic foot].

In order to determine the microbiological characteristics of diabetic foot infection, 60 diabetic patients (21 women, 39 men; age between 43 and 89 years with a duration of diabetes from 0.5 to 37 years) were investigated. Immediately after the hospitalisation specimens from infected foot lesions were taken using Port-A-Cul special transport medium.
