The Behavioral and Social Dimension of the Public Health System of European Countries: Descriptive, Canonical, and Factor Analysis.

Background: The state and prospects of the healthcare industry of a country are among its top priorities because the quality of life and health of its citizens are indicators of its success and competitiveness. The aim of this study is to conduct a theoretical analysis and qualitative and quantitative assessments of indicators by developing an integral indicator in the context of behavioral, social, demographic, and economic factors that characterize the level of healthcare system development in European countries using multivariate statistical modeling methods.

Methods: The study was implemented using Statistica 10 and Statistica Portable statistical packages.

[The analysis of synovial fluid: clinical significance of derived results].

The review presents modern data concerning characteristics of drawing of synovial fluid and also informativeness of its particular indices for resolving main clinical differential diagnostic task namely - selection group of septic and micro-crystal arthritis. It is demonstrated that minimal generally available span of analysis of synovial fluid is to include: finding number of leukocytes (threshold level for diagnostic of septic arthritis is 50 000 - 100 000 kl/mkl) and percentage of ploymorpho-nuclear cells (threshold level is 90%); analysis of content of crystals, Gram's stain and culture analysis of synovial fluid using light microscopy; and all this with mandatory registration of clinical data. The common evaluation of content of glucose and protein in synovialfluid is not enough informative.

[Course work as means of developing logical thinking in the instruction of medical students].

The carrying out of course assignments by medical students at the chair of social hygiene and public health administration is proposed for the wide application as a means of promoting the development of creative thinking in students. The course assignments fulfilled on the basis of data on regional peculiarities, characteristics of the population's health and health services while approximating students to the real practical activity promote the development of skills in the analysis, synthesis, generalization, concretization and other intellectual abilities absolutely indispensable for the future doctors.
