Hepatic Perivascular Epithelioid Cell Tumor (PEComa): A Case Report.

Perivascular epithelioid cell tumors (PEComas) are a rare group of mesenchymal neoplasms composed of perivascular epithelioid cells. While commonly found in the kidney, uterus, and soft tissues, PEComas of the liver are exceedingly rare.  We present a case of a PEComa incidentally discovered in a 73-year-old female patient undergoing evaluation for abdominal pain.

Thiadiazines are heterocyclic compounds known for some pharmacological activities. However, the ability of these compounds and their derivatives to act as antibacterial agents and inhibitors of the efflux system in resistant bacteria remains unknown. This study aims to evaluate the antibacterial and NorA efflux pump inhibitory activities of thiadiazine-derived compounds (IJ14, IJ15, IJ16, IJ17, IJ18, IJ19, and IJ20) against the Staphylococcus aureus 1199B strain.

Unified approach to reset processes and application to coupling between process and reset.

Processes under reset, where realizations are interrupted according to some stochastic rule and restarted from the initial state, find broad application in modeling physical, chemical, and biological phenomena and in designing search strategies. While a wealth of theoretical results has been recently obtained, current derivations tend to focus on specific processes, obscuring the general principles and preventing broad applicability. We present a unified approach to those observables of stochastic processes under reset that take the form of averages of functionals depending on the most recent renewal period.

is a medicinal plant widely studied due to its great phytochemical diversity, especially its acrinonic alkaloids, which have shown to be promising anticancer candidates. The aim of this work was to promote the isolation of acridonic alkaloids from fruits of and carried out absorption and fluorescence spectroscopy studies with calf thymus DNA and BSA. Five acridone alkaloids have been isolated, including the first description of 3-desmethoxy arborinine ().
