Background: Mid- and long-term sequelae of COVID-19 on cardiorespiratory fitness are unknown. Aim of the study was to assess the mid-term impact of mild-moderate COVID-19 on cardiorespiratory fitness evaluated by cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET) in élite athletes.
Methods: 13 elite cross-country skiers with previous mild-moderate COVID-19 symptoms underwent CPET before resuming seasonal training (COVID athletes).
Cardiorenal syndrome (CRS) is defined as a disorder resulting from the abnormal interaction between the heart and kidney, in which acute or chronic dysfunction of one organ may lead to acute and/or chronic dysfunction of the other. The functional interplay between the heart and kidney is characterized by a complex bidirectional symbiotic interaction, regulated by a wide array of both genetic and environmental mechanisms. There are at least five known subtypes of CRS, based on the severity of clinical features and the degree of heart/renal failure.

Optimum separation was obtained on a 57.5 cm × 50 μm capillary using a buffer system consisting of 10 mM β-cyclodextrin (β-CD) in a 100 mM phosphate buffer for CE-UV, and 0.
