TNF/TNFR Superfamily Members in Costimulation of T Cell Responses-Revisited.

Prosurvival tumor necrosis factor receptor (TNFR) superfamily (TNFRSF) members on T cells, including 4-1BB, CD27, GITR, and OX40, support T cell accumulation during clonal expansion, contributing to T cell memory. During viral infection, tumor necrosis factor superfamily (TNFSF) members on inflammatory monocyte-derived antigen-presenting cells (APCs) provide a postpriming signal (signal 4) for T cell accumulation, particularly in the tissues. Patients with loss-of-function mutations in TNFR/TNFSF members reveal a critical role for 4-1BB and CD27 in CD8 T cell control of Epstein-Barr virus and other childhood infections and of OX40 in CD4 T cell responses.

Patient-Reported Distress in Individuals With Head and Neck Cancer.

Importance: Distress is common among patients with cancer, and evidence of disparities associated with distress has been mixed. Head and neck cancer (HNC) is one of the most emotionally distressing cancers and is also a highly disparate disease. However, it is unknown whether there are disparities associated with patient-reported distress in HNC.

Impact of nurse education prior to and during COVID-19 on nursing students' preparedness for clinical placement: A qualitative study.

Introduction: Nursing students internationally entered challenging clinical placements during COVID-19. Lessons learnt could inform nurse education planning, particularly in preparation to implement future workforce plans.

Aim: This study aimed to explore the impact of COVID-19 on nursing students undertaking clinical placements across the UK, particularly the extent to which nursing education prior to and during COVID-19 had prepared them for placements, and to distil key messages for future nursing education.

Exploring what influences the uptake of cancer rehabilitation services: a realist informed mixed-methods study.

Objectives: To investigate how uptake of cancer rehabilitation services is affected by information provision and whether it is influenced by people's perception and attitudes towards rehabilitation interventions and therapies.

Design: This study followed a realist informed mixed-methods design. Descriptive secondary analysis of a cancer rehabilitation database containing information about number of people attending services, their diagnosis and sex and semi-structured interviews with people affected by cancer (PABC) and healthcare professionals (HCPs) were conducted.
