Purpose: To investigate the effect of macula-involving rhegmatogenous retinal detachment (RRD) repair on drusen regression.
Methods: A retrospective review was performed of patients with drusen who underwent macula-involving RRD repair. Longitudinal optical coherence tomography scans were reviewed by three graders, and each case was grouped into one of three categories: drusen regression, drusen persistence, or mixed.
Background: Dairy productivity can be improved by controlling metabolic diseases in dairy cows such as milk fever. The aim of this study was to estimate the cumulative incidence of milk fever during four years (2019 to 2022) at an anonymous dairy farm in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. For this study, the records of the diagnosis of milk fever in 7540 parturient cows during four years was used.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFBackground: Due to the specific anatomical features of the tibia (limited soft tissue coverage), more than a quarter of its fractures are classified as open, representing the most common open long-bone injuries. Open tibial fractures frequently cause significant bone comminution, periosteal stripping, soft tissue loss, contamination and are prone to bacterial entry with biofilm formation, which increases the risk of deep bone infection. The main objective of this study was to determine prevalence of infection and its associated factors in surgically treated open tibial fracture, at Addis Ababa Burn Emergency and Trauma (AaBET) hospital.
