Objective: We examined older men's body image, with a focus on the role of interpersonal relationships in shaping their psychological adaptation to age-related body changes to appearance, function, and health.

We examined how older men perceived, experienced, and coped with age-related changes to their appearance, body function, and health. Data from semi-structured interviews with 28 men aged 65-83 living in a large urban Canadian city and diverse in ethnocultural background (European, East Asian, and South Asian) and sexual orientation (heterosexual and gay) were analyzed through a reflexive thematic analysis. Four overarching themes were constructed from the participants' accounts.

Randomized Clinical Trial of Lidocaine Analgesia for Transurethral Bladder Catheterization Delivered via Blunt Tipped Applicator in Young Children.

Objective: Transurethral bladder catheterization (TUBC) is a painful, frequently performed procedure for collecting sterile urine. We sought to determine if administration of intraurethral lidocaine before TUBC using a blunt tipped syringe decreases procedural pain in young children in the pediatric emergency department.

Methods: Randomized clinical trial of children 0 to 36 months old requiring TUBC for collection of urine in a pediatric emergency department was performed.
