Symmetrical Fibrous Hyperplasia of the Palate.

Bilateral symmetrical fibrous palate hyperplasia is not a common case in the literature. The cause of this pathological change is not completely known. The development of hyperplasia may also be associated with a genetic mutation in the gingival soft tissue or gingival injury.

[Feasibility study of telemedicine model for diagnosis and treatment of patients with obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome in China].

To explore the feasibility of applying telemedicine model in disease management for patients with obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS) in China. A total of 24 patients were enrolled with suspected OSAHS who were admitted to the Sleep Center of Peking University People's Hospital from October 2015 to September 2016. Patients were diagnosed by electronic questionnaire assessment and home sleep apnea monitoring (HSAT) and were treated with remote automatic positive airway pressure (APAP).

The Stability Principle and global weak solutions of the free surface semi-geostrophic equations in geostrophic coordinates.

The semi-geostrophic equations are used widely in the modelling of large-scale atmospheric flows. In this note, we prove the global existence of weak solutions of the incompressible semi-geostrophic equations, in geostrophic coordinates, in a three-dimensional domain with a free upper boundary. The proof, based on an energy minimization argument originally inspired by the Stability Principle as studied by Cullen, Purser and others, uses optimal transport techniques as well as the analysis of Hamiltonian ODEs in spaces of probability measures as studied by Ambrosio and Gangbo.

Generalized early warning signals in multivariate and gridded data with an application to tropical cyclones.

Tipping events in dynamical systems have been studied across many applications, often by measuring changes in variance or autocorrelation in a one-dimensional time series. In this paper, methods for detecting early warning signals of tipping events in multidimensional systems are reviewed and expanded. An analytical justification of the use of dimension-reduction by empirical orthogonal functions, in the context of early warning signals, is provided and the one-dimensional techniques are also extended to spatially separated time series over a 2D field.

Dental Treatment Under General Anesthesia in a Day Care Surgery Setting.

Objective: To analyze data on full-mouth rehabilitation under general anesthesia (GA) performed at the University Clinical Hospital Zagreb with emphasis on patient characteristics, type of procedure and postoperative complications.

Materials And Methods: Retrospective chart review of 100 patients treated under GA at the Dental clinic's day care surgery. Patient's demographic (sex, age) and clinical data (diagnosis, GA technique, intubation type, procedure duration, number of carious teeth, presence of visible calculus, number of sealed teeth, fillings, extractions and endodontic treatments, discharge time, postoperative complications) were registered.
