Patients with testicular lymphoma are at an increased risk of central nervous system (CNS) disease. Optimal strategy for CNS relapse prevention is unknown. We analyzed treatment strategies, cumulative incidence of CNS relapse and prognosis in 229 patients with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) and testicular involvement: 157 primary testicular lymphomas (PTL) in clinical stages IE/IIE and 72 patients in advanced stages (T-DLBCL) IIIE/IV.

Article Synopsis
  • - This study compared the effectiveness of autologous haematopoietic stem cell transplantation (AHSCT) and natalizumab in patients with progressive multiple sclerosis (MS), highlighting that AHSCT did not significantly improve disability compared to natalizumab.
  • - Researchers matched 39 patients treated with AHSCT to 65 patients on natalizumab and found no significant differences in confirmed disability worsening or improvement over a period of up to 4 years.
  • - Although AHSCT had some complications like febrile neutropenia and serum sickness, there were no treatment-related deaths, but the results suggest AHSCT is not effective for controlling disability in progressive MS patients with advanced disability and low relapse activity. *

Background: The development of human breast cancer (BC) is known to be closely related to disturbances in the mammary gland microbiota. Bacteria of the genus Bifidobacterium are an important component of normal breast microbiota and exert antitumor activity. The molecular-biological mechanisms of interaction between BC cells and microbiota members remain poorly studied yet.

Background: Cancer-related cognitive impairment (CRCI) is one of the most serious side effects of cancer that negatively impacts the quality of life of cancer patients and survivors. There is evidence of CRCI in Hodgkin lymphoma patients (HL); however, there is a lack of studies examining the presence of cognitive deficits before starting any treatment in HL patients.

Methods: Forty adult patients ( = 40) newly diagnosed with HL (with no previous cancer diagnoses) and 40 healthy controls ( = 40) matched for age, sex, education, and premorbid intellect completed the neuropsychological battery and subjective and objective measures of affective distress and quality of life.

Introduction: Haemorrhage related to pelvic fractures has been associated with mortality rates of up to 50%. Angioembolisation for the management of pelvic haemorrhage was performed as early as 1972; however, there remains uncertainty over its exact use, timing and priority as a component of modern pelvic management protocols.

Methods: We retrospectively analysed cases of angioembolisation for arterial haemorrhage related to pelvic ring fractures at a level 1 trauma centre.
