A 21-year-old male with hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia underwent coil embolization for three pulmonary arteriovenous malformations (right Sc, right Sa, and left Sb). Three years after coil embolization, coil migration was observed in the right Sc and Sa, and a cavitary lesion developed between the two coils. Four years after embolization, the two coil lesions were found to have merged within the cavity.

Eight patients underwent coronary artery bypass grafting( CABG) by left thoracotomy approach to the left coronary artery territory after CABG. The left subclavian artery was selected as an inflow anastomosis site, and the greater saphenous vein was used as a graft. The average operative time was 187 minutes, and the hospital stay was 12.

Invasive fungal infections including invasive pulmonary aspergillosis (IPA) generally have a poor prognosis, because the fungi spread throughout various organs. Therefore, it is important to accurately identify the fungal species for treatment. In this article, we present the results of pathological and molecular morphological analyses that were performed to elucidate the cause of respiratory failure in a patient who died despite suspicion of IPA and treatment with micafungin (MCFG).
