The orchid genus comprises three species, all discovered in the 21 century. Each of these species is achlorophyllous, mycoheterotrophic and is known to be endemic to Vietnam. The type species of the genus, , occurs in a single location in northern Vietnam within a lowland limestone karstic area.

The group represents an example of obvious contradictions between the molecular and morphological data. This group includes from six to eight mostly annual species of section , with the center of species diversity in the Mediterranean. We performed a phylogenetic analysis of the genus with an expanded representation of all known species of the group using both nuclear (nrITS) and a set of plastid DNA markers and compared the results with traditional taxonomy of this group.

Based on the nrDNA ITS sequence data, the Tordylieae tribe is recognized as monophyletic with three major lineages: the subtribe Tordyliinae, the clade, and the clade. Recent phylogenomic investigations showed incongruence between the nuclear and plastid genome evolution in the tribe. To assess phylogenetic relations and structure evolution of plastomes in Tordylieae, we generated eleven complete plastome sequences using the genome skimming approach and compared them with the available data from this tribe and close relatives.

The combination of Liquid Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS) is commonly used to determine and characterize biologically active compounds because of its high resolution and sensitivity. In this work we explore the interpretation of LC-MS data using multivariate statistical analysis algorithms to extract useful chemical information and identify clusters of similar samples. Samples of leaves from 19 plants belonging to the Apiaceae family were analyzed in unified LC conditions by high- and low-resolution mass spectrometry in a wide range scan mode.
