Parturition is a vital physiological process in the reproduction of female mammals, regulated by neurohumoral mechanisms coordinated by the central nervous system. The uterus is essential for this process; however, the neural pathways connecting the brain to the uterus remain poorly understood. In this study, we combined the pseudorabies virus (PRV) tracing tool with c-Fos immunofluorescence staining to identify brain regions that may regulate uterine muscle activity during parturition.

Venomous snake bites can result in irreversible damage, leading to respiratory dysfunction, bleeding disorders, kidney damage, or serious complications. In recent years, with the popularity of online shopping in China, snakes can be easily purchased and kept as pets, even if some areas are not natural habitats for certain kinds of snakes. A 13-year-old boy purchased two venomous snakes online as pets.

The controllable fabrication of patterned p-type and n-type channels with precise doping control presents a significant challenge, impeding the realization of complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS) logic using a single van der Waals material. However, such an achievement could offer substantial benefits by enabling continued transistor scaling and unprecedented interlayer interconnect technologies. In this study, we devise a precise method for two-dimensional (2D) semiconductor substitutional doping, which allows for the production of wafer-scale 2H-MoTe thin films with specific p-type or n-type doping.

Article Synopsis
  • Prostate leiomyoma is a rare benign tumor that is often diagnosed post-surgery, with management primarily involving transurethral resection due to lack of established guidelines.
  • A patient presented with urinary issues and was found to have prostate leiomyoma after imaging and prior related medical history, leading to a successful holmium laser enucleation procedure.
  • Post-surgery, the patient showed no recurrence and is under regular monitoring, emphasizing the importance of patient follow-up and timely intervention for this rare condition.

The reactivity of Bi clusters ( = 2 to 30) with O is found to display even-odd alternations. The open-shell even-sized Bi clusters are more reactive than the closed-shell odd-sized clusters, except Bi, which exhibits no observable reactivity toward O. We have investigated the structure and bonding of Bi to understand its remarkable resistance to oxidation.
