Social science experiments often expose participants to false, deceptive, or otherwise harmful content. In an effort to mitigate the effects of such content and to comply with regulatory standards, these studies usually conclude by "debriefing" participants about the content they encountered, on the assumption that doing so will eliminate the effects of exposure. We present evidence showing that this assumption is not always correct.

With the expansion of newborn screening efforts for MPS disorders, the number of identified variants of uncertain significance in IDUA continues to increase. To better define functional consequences of identified IDUA variants, we developed a HEK293-based expression platform that can be used to determine the relative specific activity of variant α-iduronidases by combining a fluorescence-based activity assay and semi-quantitative western blotting. We employed the current platform to characterize over thirty different IDUA variants, including known benign and pathogenic variants, as well as multiple variants of uncertain significance identified through newborn screening.

Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) is a clinically and molecularly heterogeneous disease. The increasing recognition and targeting of genetically defined DLBCLs highlights the need for robust classification algorithms. We previously characterized recurrent genetic alterations in DLBCL and identified five discrete subtypes, Clusters 1-5 (C1-C5), with unique mechanisms of transformation, immune evasion, candidate treatment targets and different outcomes following standard first-line therapy.

To describe the attitudes and preferences of patients pertaining to robotic-assisted total hip arthroplasty (RA-THA) with the long-term objective of designing a prospective randomized-controlled trial (RCT) to evaluate the efficacy of RA-THA compared to conventional technique. A cross-sectional survey of patients attending an outpatient high-volume academic arthroplasty clinic chosen was administered from December 2023 to May 2024. The survey comprised 31 items including patient demographic, patient reported factors of significance and perceptions surrounding RA-THA.

Background And Aims: Tropical forests exchange more carbon dioxide (CO2) with the atmosphere than any other terrestrial biome. Yet, uncertainty in the projected carbon balance over the next century is roughly three-times greater for the tropics than other ecosystems. Our limited knowledge of tropical plant physiological responses, including photosynthetic, to climate change is a substantial source of uncertainty in our ability to forecast the global terrestrial carbon sink.
