Purpose: Lipids increase osteoporosis and fracture risk, yet research on Atherogenic Index of Plasma (AIP), bone mineral density declines (BMD), and trabecular bone score (TBS) is limited. This study examined the relationships between AIP, TBS, and BMD in American adults using the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) data, including the effect of obesity.

Methods: Based on data from 3,162 Americans, multivariable logistic regression and a generalized additive model (GAM) were used to analyze AIP, BMD, and TBS.

This study explores the association between serum chloride concentrations and all-cause mortality among patients in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU). Employing a retrospective cohort design, the study utilized data extracted from the Medical Information Mart for Intensive Care IV (MIMIC-IV) database, specifically focusing on individuals admitted to the surgical/trauma ICUs. This dataset encompassed demographic profiles, laboratory findings, historical medical data, vital statistics, and variables pertinent to prognosis.

Background: Unhealthy sleep and exposures to oxidative factors are both associated with poor cognitive performance (PCP), but limited evidence has been found regarding the relationship between sleep patterns and oxidative factor exposures independently or jointly with the risk of PCP.

Methods: We analyzed data from 2249 adults aged ≥60 years in the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) database (2011-2014). Self-reported questionnaires were used to collect data on sleep duration and sleep disorder, categorizing sleep duration into three groups based on responses: short (6 hours or less per night), normal (7-8 hours per night), or long (9 hours or more per night).

Globally, there are over 3 million severe cases of influenza each year, leading to up to half a million deaths. This study provides a comprehensive analysis of the current status of children's influenza vaccine research over the past 20 years and explores potential future research trends, including improvements in vaccine coverage and strategies to address vaccine hesitancy. We extracted all research data on children's influenza vaccines from 2004 to 2024 using the Web of Science Core Collection (WOSCC).

The effect of zero-valent iron (ZVI) dosage on medium-chain fatty acids (MCFAs) production from sewage sludge fermentation was explored. ZVI within a dosage of 2-20 g/L favored MCFAs production. Adding 20 g/L ZVI (ZVI20) increased the MCFAs and long-chain alcohols (LCAs) production to 4079.
