Intraoral Spitz nevus: case report and literature review.

Spitz nevi account for approximately 1% of all melanocytic nevi of the skin in children. Although Spitz nevi often develop in the skin of the head and neck, intraoral Spitz nevi are rare. These nevi contain epithelioid and spindle cells and exhibit cytologic and architectural atypia when compared with routine melanocytic nevi, and may be mistaken for atypical Spitz tumor, Spitzoid melanoma, or conventional melanoma.

In vitro stretches of the mitral valve anterior leaflet under edge-to-edge repair condition.

Mitral valve edge-to-edge repair (ETER) alters valve mechanics, which may impact efficacy and durability of the repair. The objective of this paper was to quantify stretches in the central region of the anterior leaflet of the mitral valve after ETER with a single suture and 6 mm suture. Sixteen markers, forming a 4x4 array, were attached onto the central region of the mitral valve anterior leaflet.

Dermal squamo-melanocytic tumor: a unique biphenotypic neoplasm of uncertain biological potential.

We report four cases of an unusual cutaneous squamo-melanocytic neoplasm with histological features of malignancy and uncertain biological potential. These tumors developed on the face of middle-aged and older adults. Clinically, a purple-black nodule ranged in size from 3 to 10 mm in maximum diameter.
