We observe and analyze tunable relaxation of a pure spin current by an antiferromagnet in spin valves. This is achieved by carefully controlling the angle between a resonantly excited ferromagnetic layer pumping the spin current and the Néel vector of the antiferromagnetic layer. The effect is observed as an angle-dependent spin-pumping contribution to the ferromagnetic resonance linewidth.

Structure, electric, and resonance properties of (La,Ba)MnO/ZnO nanostructure grown on SrTiO (001) substrate have been investigated. It is found that at room temperature and relatively low voltages (|V |< 0.2 V), the structure shows good rectification behavior with rectification factor near 210.

Ste20-related proline-alanine-rich kinase (SPAK) has been linked to various cellular processes, including proliferation, differentiation, and ion transport regulation. Recently, we showed that SPAK mediates signaling by the TNF receptor, RELT. The presence of a caspase cleavage site in SPAK prompted us to study its involvement in apoptotic signaling induced by another TNF member, TRAIL.

Receptor expressed in lymphoid tissues (RELT) is a new member of the TNFR family with little known regarding its signaling. Typically, TNFRs engage TRAFs for activation of NF-kappaB and MAPK cascades. We found that RELT does not use the standard signaling pathways characteristic of other TNFRs.
