Gram-scale purification of aconitine and identification of lappaconitine in Aconitum karacolicum.

Aconitum karacolicum from northern Kyrgyzstan (Alatau area) contains about 0.8-1% aconitine as well as other aconite derivatives that have already been identified. In this paper, we compare several methods for the further purification of an Aconitum karacolicum extract initially containing 80% of aconitine.

[The efficacy of the moisture and warmed CO(2) for laparoscopic surgery].

A prospective, randomized study comparing 150 patients undergoing laparoscopic operations (110 patients undergoing laparoscopic cholesystectomy and 40 patients laparoscopic fundoplication) with standard CO2 insufflation vs those receiving warmed, humidified CO2 was performed. All patients were randomized into 2 groups - 84 receiving standard CO2 insufflation (control group) and 66 receiving warmed, humidified CO2 (main group). Main variables included patient core temperature, postoperative pain, analgesic requirements and other postoperative dates.

Monolithic columns with optimized pore structure for molecular size-based separations of synthetic polymers.

Monolithic capillary columns based on divinylbenzene were synthesized using different alcanols as porogens. Prepared columns were tested in separation of polystyrene standards according to their molar mass (MM) and were characterized by corresponding calibration graphs. It was demonstrated that a decrease of alcanol chain length from dodecanol to octanol resulted in a decrease of column permeability and in an improved column ability to separate polystyrene standards.

[Development of the first Russian CAD/CAM-system--Optik Dent].

Russian dental CAD/CAM-system Optik Dent including intraoral camera for noncontact 3D object (prepared tooth or dental cast) measurement, software for 3D tooth surface reconstruction and digital modeling of restoration, NC machine tool for automated manufacturing of restorations from dental ceramics was presented in this article.

[Prognostic factors in the treatment of the bile duct injuries and strictures].

To describe the prognostic factors after surgical reconstruction data. were collected prospectively on 60 patients treated at the Scientific Center of Surgery named after M.Topchubashov and N5 City Hospital with major bile duct injuries and postoperative bile duct strictures between 2000 and 2009.
