Using morphometry, optic and structural analysis and immune histochemistry structural manifestations of adaptive mechanisms in placenta of hemo- and desmochorial type during gestation were studied. Signs of similarity and diversity of realization of adaptive mechanisms at tissue and cellular level were found. Reduction in placental barrier thickness and number of surface capillaries and also activation of trophoblastic elements genome relate to similar signs.

Non-anesthetized rabbits were exposed to short-term intensive photostimulation. The experiments showed that the resultant increase in cerebral circulation occurred independently from systemic circulation, cardiac and respiratory function. Simultaneously, substantial adaptive changes in the optic system measured by electroretinography and optokinetic nystagmus developed.

The experiments in rabbits showed that reverse postoptokinetic nystagmi (RPN) could be induced by comparatively weak but continuous optokinetic stimulation. RPN is considered to be a result of the formation of dominant stimulation in optic centies, which can be strengthened and maintained by new--coming stimulation (auditory and tactile included). The data obtained seem to account for the peculiarities of the optic system affected by other modal influences in post--stimulus period.

A device-trainer intended for individual exercises with patients suffering from an intensively pronounced hearing defect is described. The device permits it to reproduce sound signals amplifying them up to 130 dB in the mono-binaural and also in the stereophonic modes and provides for a wide bandwidth. The originals can be presented by using the auditory and vibro-tactile reception.
